I want you to think about the last time you had to hire someone? How much of the process was designed to make sure you found the right person for your unique school or was it similar to every other school in your district. If there is one thing I’ve learned over my years as a site leader, it's that the recruiting and hiring process is everything and our guests today are great examples of how the process can change your school. Today we are talking to Dr. Marcia Carmichael-Murphy a principal in Louisville, Kentucky and her Assistant Principal Dr. LaRhonda Mathies. They are going to share about their process as they look for anti-racist educators to join their team. You will hear some of the key things they listen for and what they don’t want to hear. They will also share strategies to support and retain their new hires during those challenging new teacher years.
